Screeching from the bowels of an audio torture chamber is Now Is In Effect’s second release. Known for playing elaborately dissonant skronk-metal, this EP’s focus is on Experimental Sound Art and features a fine selection of garbled up alien noise, frying inputs, tribal rhythms, ghost choirs, minimalistic guitar drones, glitched out sound processing and voices from beyond the grave. These three tracks are meant to sound like they were created for the purpose of listening to with headphones strapped on in the dead of night whilst contemplating paranoid narcissistic thoughts. The Hear Lucifer EP provides the soundtrack to a digital world slowly breaking up into random pixilated madness and then being reassembled according to chance. What happens next is always a familiar kind of surprise. Enjoy the descent!
